Gorgeous City Real Wedding- Karolina and Richie

Good morning pearlies!  We are so excited to show you this wedding this morning from Matt Bigelow Photographer!  We are in awe of Matt’s work and are also extremely proud to say he is one of our own Chicagoland/”The Region” photographers!  Stay tuned these next couple weeks, as we showcase more of them proudly. With that said, today’s post will show you exactly why we are so proud of our own.  This GORGEOUS vision that the bride Karolina brought to life was perfectly captured.  So sit back, relax, and let us take you through the day starting with some gorgeous details including custom designed rings…the bride’s a classic look, round cut cathedral with a diamond band designed by John Buechner Inc., and the groom’s band by David Yurman.

Thank you so much Matt for sharing this with us!

Ok I can’t go any further without commenting on Karolina’s Haley Paige gown!  Is it amazing or what?!  Here’s more on that from the bride herself… “My dress!!!!!!!!! Ahhh!!!!!!! My mom and I walked into Bella Bianca, Oakbrook and we knew that this was going to be an experience of a lifetime. It was supposed to be just for fun. After all, it was our first stop and it was 2 weeks after Richie had proposed to me. Never would I have imagined that the first dress I tried on yes, one and only, was going to be MY dress! My consultant asked what it was that I envisioned. I did not want anything simple however, I did not want anything “gaudy”. I knew I wanted a fitted, strapless, mermaid style and of course a cathedral veil. I had 4 dresses brought into the fitting room. As soon as I saw my dress, THE dress hanging on the door, I wanted to try it on. Needless to say, I managed to just pull it over my waist and I immediately said that this was my dress. I did not try the remaining 3 dresses. Haley Paige won my heart!!!!! I remember walking out of the fitting room and seeing my mom’s expression. It was priceless!!!! Her immediate response was “this is it!!!! Where is the register??” I definitely had my princess moment!”

Karolina and Richie had the most beautiful desserts and told us they also opted for a live violinist during the cocktail hour…Jimmy Chaos.  “I dream of the day that Jimmy can play for us again.”

We just adore the decor!  (Hey that rhymed…lol!) It is so elegant!!!  Karolina had nothing but wonderful things to say about that as well.  “My entire vision for my décor along with the day was classy, elegant and timeless. I did not want my décor to represent the current season. In fact, whether it was fall, winter or summer, I wanted a very clean look but most importantly, elegant and of course romantic. While meeting with my florist (Northern Greenhouses), my first comment was “dowse me in flowers and candles”. I did not want anything modern as I feel it often takes away from the romantic aspect. Ivory’s, gold’s and amber lighting were exactly what I wanted. Maria brought my vision to life. Her attention to detail is amazing. I wanted specific shades of ivory and a very subtle pop of blush. I cannot say enough great things about Northern Greenhouses. The best part of working with Maria was her creating a demo of my wedding day décor. Yes, she has a private room which is utilized for private viewing of the table setting which includes your centerpieces, linens, chairs, backdrop and lighting. I will never forget the day I saw my viewing. It absolutely took my breath away!!!! She was able to decorate with the exact linens I picked out (taupe bichon) along with my gold chiavari chairs, ivory backdrop and amber lighting. There was no turning back!! I was officially in love with my wedding day!

I fell in love with the idea of having a lounge area. I wanted an intimate setting. I wanted a romantic backdrop with as little “pickups” as possible. I am a strong believer that less is always more.

The Palmer House Chicago. This was the only hotel I wanted for my wedding. I loved everything about it. Art, chandelier, staircase, tall ceilings, dimmed lighting, balconies. It’s so romantic.”

Wow!  Now that’s a dream wedding if we ever saw one!  And we just had to include those shots of the break dancers…”The name of the group is “Break-a-Bulls” also known as “Motion Disorderz . Richie is a Bulls fanatic!!! He originally saw them perform at the Bulls game and immediately knew he wanted them to perform at our wedding.”…And we here at PPB are so glad he did! Congratulations Karolina and Richie!  Your wedding day was absolutely stunning!
