Woodland Glam Inspiration Shoot- AKM Events

untitled (169 of 271)

Hey you guys!  So today is another really special day for me because I get to brag on my bestie Michelle (aka Mimi).  We have done a lot of inspiration shoots together, but this one was so special because I asked if she would head it for me if I came up with all of the wardrobe.  She said “Of course!”  and we were off!  I really wanted to do something with a Woodland base, but bring in some bling and pixie like elements as well.  She found the perfect folks to sign on for florals, makeup, cake etc…and it was a dream.  She transformed our woodland location into a land fit for a fairy princess and I couldn’t have been happier about it.  There were sequined table cloths and handmade glittered candle sticks and vases in abundance. Everything was over the top gorgeous.  See the magic for yourself…

The dreamy florals were brought in by Sugarfield Flowers.  Kris Livovich went above and beyond!  The hanging florals and fruit in the centerpieces were awe inspiring, and we were BEYOND impressed with her real floral jewelry and her original idea of a floral arm band as a bridesmaid bouquet alternative.  It added this unique boho element to the shoot which went perfect with the barefoot sandals I designed for the girls to wear with their (DIY’ed glitter) heels.  And we didn’t even plan it!

The marvelous makeup was done by Melissa Marshall with Leroc Salon on location.  Michelle asked for a dramatic whimsical look for all of the girls and as usual Melissa didn’t disappoint!

The hair also had more of a whimsical feel with braids and curls intertwined to perfection compliments of Katelyn Pruitt Hairstylist.  Kudos to this beauty team!

Invites and all the calligraphy work throughout the shoot was done by our bride model Rebecca.  They looked beautiful and worked perfect with the theme.

The gown was made from a vintage table cloth which I paired with the modern ruffled tulle and drop waist elements.  This gown was part of my 2015 collection and was entitled “The Jamie” after one of my best friends who is obsessed with The Princess Bride and has had the mindset that fairy tale’s come true ever since I can remember.  I always found her belief in love refreshing and completely sweet which is exactly how I would describe this gown.

The awesome cake and desserts came from Sug Inc. and looked absolutely stunning! Michelle placed all the pastries carefully onto hand stenciled plates and antique glass dishes. She then added fruit and candle light to finish off the look.

I hope you enjoyed this inspiration shoot as much as we loved creating it!  Here’s to your happily ever after…
