Hey you guys!! So I may be more excited about this DIY than I have been about any other we’ve done! If you know me personally, you know how much I LOVE everything flowers! I want them adorning my table, on my clothes, in my decor, and pretty much wherever I’m looking. The past few years, I have really been into pressing flowers. I pick them at the end of the summer, and usually keep them pressed until mid fall when I take them out and make gifts of ornaments, bookmarks, or whatever else strikes my fancy. With that said, when I was brainstorming about what new DIY’s we here at PPB could offer you, I knew I wanted to incorporate pressed flowers. I soon thought, they would be BEAUTIFUL on the table center which then gave me the idea to incorporate them on the table numbers. This DIY is easy and absolutely stunning. We will have another type you can do on Thursday, but here’s my fave of the 2 to get you started.
First, cut four small squares of felt and hot glue 2 of them to the middle of the square, and 2 on the bottom of your table number, matching the spots up so when you stand the number on the square, the felt is in the same place.
**Note: You can also skip this step and wood glue the 2 pieces together at the end of this tutorial for an extra strong hold. This way is more of a quick way of doing it.
Next, get your trusty Mod Podge, and paint a layer over the top of your wooden number.
While the glue is still wet, start adhering your flowers. Paint on more glue if and when you need it to get the look you want.
Lastly, (After the glue has dried)… hot glue the felt on the wooden square, and attach your number to the top.
And that’s it pearlies! For the sake of photos, I took a plain white candle and hot glued the extra flowers to it, and set it on an upside down wine glass. What a cute display right??
Just gorgeous!!! I think this would be a perfect display for boho, shabby chic, artsy, rustic, vintage…so many wedding genre types! So whatever your style, it’s your turn to give it a whirl! And if you do, be sure to let us know how you fare…
