Happy Thirsty Thursday pearlies! In honor of this day, and the upcoming Halloween celebrations coming up, we wanted to take some time and share a couple of yummy drink tutorials with you. Both of which are pretty darn tasty! The first is a Jello “shot”, modeled after candy corn and gelled into some small champagne glasses, which technically probably makes them at least double shots, but hey…it’s a party right? The other drink today we actually named “The Witch”, is a spin off of another cocktail called…um…well The Witch with a “B” if ya know what I mean. lol! The original recipe calls for cranberry juice, but we decided to add a different flair and go with pomegranate juice…and yum! We’re glad we did.
So anyhoo, without further adieu… here’s your Halloween Cocktail tuts! Enjoy!
Candy Corn Inspired Jello (Double) Shots
*Vodka (We chose Vanilla which gave the final flavor of a dreamsicle)
*Boiling Hot Water
*Cold or ice water
*2 Types of Jello (We went with orange and strawberry)
*A decent size mixing bowl and spoon
*Whipped Cream (not pictured)
First dump the (orange) Jello packet into your mixing bowl, then add 1 cup of boiling water and stir.
Next add 1/2 cup of cold water (for a quick gel you can add “ice water”, but make sure the ice is melted before you throw it in the fridge).
Next add a 1/2 cup of vodka and stir well.
Pour about a shots worth of jello into your champagne glasses and chill until Jello is set.
Then you will do all the same steps with the other Jello. Add a shots worth on top of the gelled Jello. and let that set as well.
It should look like this when it’s done.
Top with the whipped cream and Enjoy!
Next is “The Witch”…If you are a vodka cranberry drinker…you’ll like this as well!
*Vodka (Again we used our trusty vanilla…yum.)
*Glass of your choice
*Shot glass for measuring
First empty your ice into the martini shaker.
Next you will add a nice hefty shot of vodka.
Next measure out 6 oz of pomegranate juice and add it to the shaker as well.
Give it a big ol shake and pour it in your glass.
Top off with 2 oz. of your lemon-lime soda.
Sit back, relax, and enjoy!
Well pearlies, we hope you enjoyed these tutorials. If you try them, let us know what you think! Tomorrow, we will have one more tutorial, and a halloween table inspiration of how to display it all for your shindigs! So stay tuned for that… Have a safe, and Happy Halloween….and please do NOT drink and drive.
